The 2026 Pocheon Hantan River Garden Festa Spring Promotion, featuring ICONIX's flagship characters 'Pororo and Friends', has successfully concluded amid high interest from family tourists.
The Pocheon Hantan River Garden Festa is a signature regional festival where visitors can enjoy garden viewing, relaxation, and hands-on activities set against the breathtaking natural backdrop of the Hantan River. For this year’s spring season, the festival incorporated sculptures and photo zones featuring 'Pororo and Friends,' providing an even more familiar and delightful experience for children and families alike.
Notably, despite having an operating period that was about a week shorter than the previous year, the event achieved record-breaking success, showing growth across all major performance indicators. In fact, more than 160,000 visitors flocked to the festival during its run.
The pace of success was equally remarkable. The cumulative number of visitors surpassed 100,000 just 24 days after the opening—reaching the milestone about a week faster than last year. This goes down as the shortest period ever to achieve this visitor count since the inception of the Garden Festa. The sharp increase in attendance and public interest despite the shorter timeframe demonstrates that the festival's content competitiveness has significantly strengthened.
This achievement is analyzed as a synergy between the Hantan River's blessed natural environment, diverse hands-on programs, and seasonal garden content, coupled with the high recognition and family-friendly image of 'Pororo and Friends.' In particular, the collaboration naturally drew families with young children, playing a positive role in expanding the festival's target audience and enhancing visitor satisfaction.
Moving forward, ICONIX plans to continue various collaborations with regional festivals and tourism content based on the close familiarity and family-friendly image of 'Pororo and Friends' to provide visitors with even more joyful experiences.
